During a reception in Beijing commemorating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of maintaining confidence and taking steady steps toward the nation’s rejuvenation. Xi outlined a vision for sustaining economic momentum and promoting innovation-driven and high-quality development as key to achieving these goals.
Xi stressed the need to improve people’s livelihoods and meet annual targets to ensure a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan, which spans from 2026 to 2030. This plan is seen as crucial for China’s future development and positioning on the global stage.
The president also reaffirmed China’s commitment to the “one country, two systems” policy in Hong Kong and Macao, advocating for greater integration of these regions with the broader national development agenda.
