Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has launched mass production for its 100 V integrated gallium nitride (GaN) power-stage IC family, featuring models EPC23108, EPC23109, EPC23110, and EPC23111. These ePower™ Stage ICs are crafted for high-performance motion-control applications, integrating high-side and low-side eGaN® FETs, gate drivers, and level-shifting circuitry into compact, thermally enhanced QFN packages. The devices are capable of operating up to 100 V, with current ratings of 35 A and 20 A, depending on the specific model, aiming to enhance power density and efficiency while streamlining system design.
The product line offers features such as rapid fault shutdown, safe gate control during power-loss scenarios, and the ability to maintain continuous 100% duty-cycle operations. Additionally, single-input PWM options are available, which support multi-axis motor-control applications. To complement the new power-stage ICs, EPC is also introducing the EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131 three-phase BLDC motor-drive evaluation boards. These platforms incorporate gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, housekeeping power supplies, as well as temperature monitoring and protection functions.
EPC’s latest devices are accessible through its global distribution network, including well-known distributors such as Digi-Key and Mouser. The target applications for these products include humanoid robots, drones, industrial motor drives, medical equipment, synchronous rectification, and high-density DC-DC converters. Pricing for the EPC23108 and EPC23109 is set at US$3.70 each, while the EPC23110 and EPC23111 are offered at US$2.47 each, based on orders of 3,000 units. The evaluation boards, EPC91128 and EPC91129, are priced at US$640 each, whereas the EPC91130 and EPC91131 are priced at US$630 each.
Furthermore, EPC is releasing a technical white paper available in both English and Chinese, which covers the architecture, design considerations, and evaluation platforms for these new integrated GaN power-stage ICs.
