Loong Air has inaugurated a new flight route directly connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China with Taichung International Airport in Taiwan. This marks a significant milestone for the airline as it embarks on its first cross-strait service. The newly launched route is set to enhance travel links between southwestern China and central Taiwan, operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The introduction of this direct flight is poised to facilitate smoother travel and improve connectivity for passengers traveling between these regions. As part of the expansion, this Chengdu route joins the existing network of flights at Taichung International Airport, which now features a total of 31 routes. These include 20 regular services and 11 charter routes, broadening the airport’s reach and service offerings.
Taichung International Airport, located in central Taiwan, has been gradually expanding its network of international destinations. With the addition of the Chengdu service, it now hosts scheduled flights to three cross-strait destinations. These destinations include not only Chengdu but also Nanjing and Qingdao, further solidifying its role as a critical hub for travel between Taiwan and mainland China.
