China is set to host the 2026 Global Governance Forum in the Xiong’an New Area, a burgeoning urban center in Hebei province, from October 23 to 25. This significant event aims to gather a diverse array of international representatives, including political leaders, academics, business figures, media personnel, and youth delegates, to tackle pressing global governance issues.
The forum will focus on critical topics such as the role of the United Nations, climate change, the implications of artificial intelligence, and the complexities of multilateral trade. With participation anticipated from nearly 100 countries, spanning the Global South, Europe, and the Americas, the event underscores a global commitment to addressing these challenges collaboratively.
Under the theme “Rebuilding Confidence and Cooperation: Reforming and Improving Global Governance in a Transforming World,” the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs is spearheading the forum. This initiative highlights China’s efforts to play a central role in shaping the future of global governance.
In addition to discussions and panels, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Xiong’an New Area, which China is actively developing as a forward-thinking urban hub. This locale serves as a testament to the nation’s vision for future urban development and innovation.
The Global Governance Forum represents a pivotal opportunity for international stakeholders to engage in dialogue and foster cooperation across borders, striving for solutions that can enhance global stability and prosperity.
